The FirstSearch service provides access to six databases via three authorizations. The specific databases can be accessed directly through the links provided below or from the listings on the electronic resources pages. Links to each authorization are also provided below if you wish to search across more than one database simultaneously.

FirstSearch records allow you to link back to InfoKat, the Libraries' online catalog, to find locations of materials we own. If, for example, the record you are viewing states under "Ownership" that "FirstSearch indicates your institution owns the item," then you can click on the link "Search the catalog at University of Kentucky Libraries" to search our catalog for the location and call number of the item. If the FirstSearch record has an ISBN or an ISSN, the link will take you to a screen that shows you the result of that standard number search. If no standard number is available, you can search for the item some other way (e.g., by title). You will see a reconnect bar above the InfoKat search screen that will indicate the time remaining before your connection to FirstSearch is terminated and a link to reconnect you to the record you were viewing in FirstSearch.
Medical Center Users: Please do not use the Interlibrary Loan Request feature in FirstSearch; rather, submit your requests directly to the Medical Center Library via their ILLiad service.
